In-Home Supports are supportive services that are provided by a Direct Support Professional to a person that lives in his/her natural home for up to 8 hours per day, 7 days per week. The purpose of this service is to enable supported people to receive needed person-centered assistance as they continue to live with their families. This is done by providing the necessary level of care in the natural home. This allows the family to work outside the home and do other activities that they would not be able to do without the assistance of In-Home Support Services.
In-Home Supports can be utilized by the family to assist with taking people to medical appointments, community events, and activities, or to assist and enhance the daily living skills of the person receiving services to promote/increase his/her independence.
